Flag
The three points of the yellow triangle stand for the three main ethnic groups of the country: the Bosniaks,Serbs, and Croats. The triangle also represents the geometric shape of the country. Current Events
A current conflict in the country of Bosnia and Herzegovina is the racial tension between the major ethnic groups of the country. These tensions have fluctuated widely through the centuries causing many wars and ethnic cleansing crusades. The most recent example of this event is the Croat-Bosniak war that ended in the early 1990's and lead to the declaration of independence declaring Bosnia and Herzegovina a sovereign and independent nation. It was a three way war waged by the three main ethnic groups of the country after the former country of Yugoslavia dissipated. The Bosniaks were on the side of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Serbs on Republika Srpska, and the Croats were with the Herzeg-Bosnia faction. This territorial dispute was also a religious crusade to claim land for the ethnic group's respective religions.
